From September 19 to 27, Montreal will welcome more than 1,000 athletes from over 80 countries and nearly 550,000 spectators for one of the world’s most important cycling competitions: the UCI Road World Championships.
This marks a grand return for the World Cycling Championships, which were last held in Montreal more than 50 years ago—the first time the event took place outside of Europe. And this time, we’ll have the opportunity to experience this historic event together! It’s free, open to everyone and it promises to transform the city into a true cycling playground!

BIXI service enhancement
During the World Cycling Championships, BIXI seasonal and monthly memberships will offer enhanced benefits! From September 13 to 27, members will enjoy 60-minute rides included on a regular BIXI, instead of 45-minute rides.
With more than 120 stations located near the race routes including 17 valet drop-off stations and 3 new carrefours, and a presence at the Fans Village, our teams will be fully mobilized to ensure you can easily find an available BIXI bike or docking station.

Athletes don’t have a monopoly on racing!
While the world’s best cyclists compete, Montrealers will go about their daily races: going to school, to work, to the grocery store, picking up the kids from daycare…
And they’ll all be part of the Championships’ history!
